Do you have any leftovers, I asked the more attractive girl at work. Sure, she said, wait here. She returned with half a tuna salad and an apricot yoghurt. After eating them, I stood in a corner and cried. The more attractive girl fetched tissues and promised to show me photos of her recent holiday in Guadeloupe. She stays at small hotels where it’s easy to meet strangers.
