You could have a big dipper

SMALL DEFINITION by Mark J. Mitchell

For Kimberly

A poem is a thing

made of words

like a mousetrap

is made out of

wood, wire and cheese.

It’s not your job

to create its beauty.

This thing works

or it doesn’t,

just like

a trap.

Mark J. Mitchell has been a working poet for forty years. His latest full length collection is Roshi:San Francisco published by Norfolk Press. He lives with his wife, the activist, Joan Juster. A small online presence exists

A primitive web site now exists:

I sometimes tweet @MarkJMitchellSF
