micro plastic sunset no.5 by Simon Alderwick

of course, every other romance
started with a walk down 2
the creek, thru a rapid field
setting off allergies,
while she asked a lot of questions
4 her mother, a tired piece
wrung out like a drying cloth
as if 1 day we'd share the
memory as R kids shone
from behind fridge magnets.
of course, these days we R
digital. R kids write code
whilst we crack jokes, disguising
awkwardness 4 IQ. hunger 4 hurt.
R battles a shopping trolley sunk.
