You could have a big dipper

Little Birds by Gwil James Thomas

A little bird as

their memory –

rising up

into the sky,

as you smile

and move on.

A little bird as

the solid chunk

of your heart,

lying lifeless

and fucked up

on the lawn –

killed simply

because it

could be

the uncaring

culprit

long

since gone.

A little bird as

love

softly singing

on your

doorstep –

patiently

waiting for you

to let it in.
