You could have a big dipper

Antler by Kenneth Pobo

A flat sky

above my head, a ceiling

where gods and goddesses saunter

and ask to be written into life.

I can’t write since I’m vibrating.

Music plucks harp strings

of the past, I try to sing along,

get as loud as The Monkees

when I saw them in 1967

at 13--an antler looking for

my deer body.

I grew into it—and ran off,

ears twitching, alert.
